The Wilbanks Lab is a strong supporter of the open science movement.  We strive to publish in open access journals whenever possible, but we also work to promote the flow of ideas pre-publication too, at conferences talks, on social media and via preprints.  Here, you'll find some resources and links related to our work in this area!

MicroSeminar is a freely available web-based seminar series that microbiologists together from all over the world, to share their research and ideas in an open format that is accessible to all and freely available via Google+ Hangouts and archived YouTube videos.  We believe everyone deserves access to the exciting research going on in microbiology, and we're working to make that happen.  MicroSeminar was the brain child of Dr. Jen Biddle at University of Delaware - and Lizzy was psyched to join the MicroSeminar team in October 2017, when Jen stepped down after organizing since 2013.  Read more about the philosophy and history of MicroSeminar in this blog post from Jen.
